Matalan

Matalan in Stockport is hidden away behind the Peel Centre. You can get to it by either going down the side of Argos on the Peel Centre, or by walking down the side of Asda towards Newbridge Lane and turning left at the mini roundabout. It is a massive store with hundreds of lines of clothing for men, women and children. They also stock a good range of homewares and, bizzarely, a fancy dress/Birthdays section. The clothing is good quality and quite cheap, and they stock a good range of sizes. The staff are usually pleasant even thought they are always busy and there is always a queue at the checkout. The little coffee shop at the back is a nice place to stop for a quick hot drink, and the coffee is good.

Matalan is a great place to look for bargains, particularly is the homeware department. I've constantly been impressed by the good prices for their bedding and home accessories, and their ranges are attractive and of a good quality. The clothing is of a relatively good quality and price. The Stockport store is well laid out, it just sometimes gets busy at the weekend and there are not always enough tills being manned. Apart from that it is well worth a visit.

You will find Matalan in Stockport just near Asda. They have a large car park outside. Matalan sell some great bargains and they stock the following; mens clothing, womens clothing, kids clothing, shoes, bags and home items.


This Matalan is quite large and does get busy so the queues can be a bit long at the till but its worth it for the money you will save. I think the clothes look good and they do wash well despite being cheaper.


You will also need a Matalan card- you can get this at the till when you first go.

Matalan is a great shop that sells mens womens and childrens clothes, homeware and household items.


Everything in matalan is cheap - which of course is great!! The clothes are good quality though even though they are cheap and they wash well too.


The shop is situated near to asda, and you do have to pay to use the car park. You do however, get the parking fee back when you purhcase something from Matalan.


You do have to have a matalan card, which is free, and you get it from the til when you do your first shop there.


The shop does get quite busy though at weekends and busy periods but the clothing rails are quite well spaced and i have never found it a problem.

Matalan is a great shop and they sell clothing, shoes, Housewares etc at a reasonable price. Online ordering is easy and they have great customer service. I ordered a pair of Shoes recently and they were here 24 hours later so well done! You may have to queue as it does get busy in store but staff are usually pretty quick so you won't have to wait long.

I love the house hold items at Matalan but that is about it really. I have noted the prices go up in recent years and with Primark now on their door step they can't afford to do this and keep custom. Their clothes are nothing special and can be found cheaper elsewhere. If I am going to pay extra I will be buying a better label than Matalan! Queues are usually quite long, staff slow and I think it must physically pain them to smile cos am quite sure I've never seen one do it. Their Christmas stock can be nice but not so I would make a special effort to go here for it. The charity people at the door will hound you for your parking ticket upon entry too, can be annoying during a stressful shopping trip with 3 children! Parking here is great, always plenty of spaces. I would say it's good for those who wish to buy cheaply but not shop around while doing so, it is all under one roof - but then so is it at primark and its cheaper!

Matalan in Stockport in a great place to shop and bat the credit crunch! large selection of clothes, accesories and homewares at great prices. The shop has a large open plan layout and although it does get busy, there is plenty of tills so the queue seems to dissapear pretty quickly. Reccomended.

i do love matalan and its got everything from clothes to home furnishings, however its not always fashionable & can be a little dated
