Golden Nails

Hidden gem and a great find. After a day of sight seeing and being a tourist in my own backyard I needed a quick break. Came in for a quick manicure. The ladies who were in the shop were very nice, and my nails looked fantastic when I left. This place has a strong community because I saw 3 ladies come in / leave and they knew the nail technicians and it was apparent they were all regulars. Will keep this place in my mind when in DC and need a manicure.

Mrs. Thu is an incredible nail technician. She did an incredible Manicure and callus removal treatment on my nails, paying attention to detail very, the callus is gone. The best part is the mini massage.

This salon left my nails BUTCHERED!! Worst salon experience I've ever had. They did not know what they were doing and left my nails dirty. Rushed, Lumpy and smudged. I literally cried when I went home and rushed to a new salon to fix them and they had to take them off all together. Will never be returning and should be ashamed that they let me walk out with these
nails.

I normally go here to get my pedicure but, they been closed for business all month during August.
Since reopening in September I went to get my pedicure with designs on my toes that I normally get. I usually pay $75. I did check the price board while waiting nothing changed from what I could see. I showed the design that I would like on my toes to the tech. The tech made no mention of price changes. When finished receiving services I was told the price was $107. I was confused, $75 is what I normally pay I said. The tech said well designs, I said I always get designs and I pay $75. If you're going to start upcharging let your clients know especially if they regularly come for services. Now I have to find a new establishment for services

Lynn is SO fast and does such an outstanding job! She does her absolute best to get you in right when you need and her phone is always ringing off the hook so you know she's gotta be good!

The owner is rude, doesn't smile when she greets her patrons. She had only one technician performing services today. She looked insulted because I was a walk-in. She told me she had a 1pm appointment even though I was there at 12:45pm. All I wanted was to soak off my tips and get a regular mani/pedi. I get that I didn't have a set appointment. If they are only taking appointments then that should be indicated on a sign outside the building so people will not waste time coming into the establishment. At least, be so kind to offer another time slot/day to do my nails. Some of these nail shops act as if they are doing people a favor when it is the other way around. I value customer service 100% and this place flunked the test. I WILL not be returning.

This place is super clean, very friendly, they sanitize everything before using it but.... Here is the buy :( I don't think $80 dollars + tip for a mani/ pedi is reasonable. Am I missing something here?!?!!

I'm very happy with the manicure I got at Golden Nails. I often struggle to find good casual manicure spots in DC, but I will definitely return to this one. It's hidden one level below the street, but don't pass it!
