Jamaica Hospital

ok so this hospital ER is scary as heck upon arrival, but have some amazing amazing Doctors, nurses and staff. They are helpful considerate and caring until they think you aren't going to make it. They loose hope in you and no longer give a damn. Don't let that statement throw you off because most staff go above and beyond and others are disgusting. I gave birth there and had a great experience. I lost my dad there and was told by a Doctor this not a nursing home and they are not babysitters tell me that was not a worth going out of character moment or a cause her to need a bed moment or her job at stake. It is 50/50 for me because those nurses and doctors in the prenatal ward are beyond amazing, but If your loved ones are not doing well you are better off discharging them ASAP to another hospital.

Well hello hello everyone this is Michael caul jr and I recommend that anyone don't go to this hospital on Jamaica-Vanwyk because of the terrible un professional experience I had on March 23rd ok so I walked in the hospital with a shortness of breath and Symptomes of coughing so I was seen by a nurse in all blue with her id turned in Named cia who wanted to draw blood from me but I told her that to be gentle because I'm nervous of needles so as she stuck me she couldn't find a vein in my right it left arm so it was hurting me so then a Dr named pattel was laughing at me and she asked him to draw blood so when he did cia mentioned that I'm not normal and that next time she should stick a needle in my neck, ok Ive been in Hospitals before because I have a conjective Heart failure ok and I'm writing this out to say this not all sections of Jamaica hospital are bad but I'm taking action on these two people because they're statements and behaviors are totally unacceptable ok so everyone again don't go this department in the heart section because this two a very unprofessional and they made me uncomfortable making my pressure go high to 199 over 100

I'm tired of having different doctors. Doctor bois is horrible. she never answers her phone. she closed my medication then lied that I never pick up the phone. They told me to go to the hospital. now I have to wait until March 25, 2024. I call to make a complaint they said there's nobody there. unprofessional. I'm going there in person and make official complaint about Doctor BOIS.

I gave it 2 Stars because my surgeon is Awesome..
The staff in Jamaica Hosp. are very friendly, but So EXTREMELY INCOMPETENT. I've never experienced simple Blood Tests that my Blood was everywhere, but in the tube. I am definitely not having 2nd Surgery There... WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!

Look at the rating the hospital is very unprofessional what waste of a building shit it down and make something good use out of it.im at the triage for ever how do I get called? Where's the janitor? It smell like pizz. This is some big azz bull asz shid

I was hit head on by a wrong way driver at over 40 mph. I have what appears to be a concussion, a sprained wrist, exacerbated disc herniations on a previous medical site, exacerbated soft tissue tears on a previous medical site. Hospital REFUSED TO TREAT, even though every scan and treatment would have been jointly covered by my health insurance and no-fault. Supervising nurse refused to intervene. I was forced out of the hospital as a disabled and handicapped person that's been freshly injured without medical treatment. Highly recommend against ever employing Celine Thum MD and Kelly E Bocchino PA at any medical facility ever again

Well let me go ahead and lash into this fucking disaster of a hospital. It's COVID world so I was understanding of some issues but I mean wait until you hear this shit...

My grandmother was rushed to the hospital, congestive heart failure, 8pm Saturday night. At 1230am we received a call because no one is allowed in this hospital no matter what that she is "stable". All of Sunday we hear nothing, we call endless times to be told a doctor will call us back and do not hear anything it's now 830pm Sunday night. FINALLY Someone calls back to repeat she is "stable". Very rushed in the phone and begins to ask if my grandmother is normally disoriented, I tell them no she is deaf and refuses hearing aids which is why I wanted to be in the hospital with her but you wouldn't allow it. The doctor tells me they will note it and speak louder.

I call the next day to see if I can bring her kitkats nada newspaper, she loved both. They tell me no you can only bring a phone charger, my grandmother is 94, no phone or know how to use it.

We then find out you can get a patient advocate to FaceTime you so you can at least see your loved one. The advocate says she will FaceTime off an iPad in two minutes, it's now been 45 mins and no call.

This place is a prison for the sick. I hate it and it was always a shit hospital even before covid.

took my driver license when I'm a patient when I discharg do not go there! Disrespect to my race! They put me on shots when they wanna to this is not a hospital for anything! Mental health floor

I got an X-ray failed the first time and the doctor scolded me, second time, I got called lazy because I didn't know what to do and I tried my best to take a deep breathe in. I struggle to take a deep breath in when I have asthma flares, so to be called "lazy" that's just embarrassing and my feelings was hurt. No doctor should use any word like that with patients to make them feel bad about themself. I literally got triggered by that and made me have trouble breathing more.

I would like to share my own experience to you all my son got sick at the city we are from Albany NY , my son did receive the services that he needs and I would like to Thanks everyone from the EMS who drove us to the hospital to the security guard who were nice to us and kind. Thanks a lot DR. Sophia Jagroop for taking care of my son and find out the diagnose. I appreciate all staff nurses. you deserve 5 stars
