Silvia's Honey Tree Restaurant

This was my first visit to Silvia's Honey Tree. It is located in a very convenient spot in North Winston. The interior is pretty big, it was pretty normal looking, and appeared to be clean.

I came in to have dinner with a friend. The menu is huge as is common with Greek restaurants in the area. Lots of Italian options. My friend had a lamb gyro platter, and I had the Friday special, which was broiled salmon. I had peas and a salad for sides. We also had a fried mushroom appetizer.

The tzatziki is pretty decent. He said his meal was alright. Mine was okay too. The salmon was cooked fine, but I didn't enjoy the flavor, even with lemon and salt. The rest of it was average. I think the most tasty item I had were the hush puppies. Very crispy and fresh.

We were served by Laura. She was pretty talkative and friendly.

Overall, the food was average. The service was fine.

This is a small, Greek owned family style diner that serves up three meals a day (closed on Monday) in a generally pleasant environment, which can be a bit noisy at times, emanating from communal tables where folks lingering over late breakfast.

The breakfast fare is the usual suspects, and the lunch and dinner choices include a variety of Greek, Italian, and Southern US dishes, and they offer daily specials, with some added value. The overall pricing is very reasonable and the portions are usually large, combining to make this a great value option.

I have eaten here 6 or 7 times now and have found that there are several dishes that have become favorites. The Chicken Souvlaki tops the list, and it is the best I've had in the entire Triad area, and that is something considering the plethora of very good Greek restaurants here. The chicken is well marinated, tender, and perfectly grilled. The Tzatziki is excellent, needing on a dash of salt, and a small grind of pepper.

The Greek Salad is also very, very nice with the freshest tasting feta cheese I've found, with a nice salty flavor, further enhanced by the superior Greek dressing they make in house. I tried the Big Fat Greek Platter, which is made up of gyro meat, chicken souvlaki, dolmades, meat balls, Greek salad. I am not a fan of either the gyro (rather tough and lacks flavor and moisture) or the meat balls (which just doesn't have a flavor that I care for).

The grilled Pork Chops are definitely a favorite - there are 2 perfectly grilled bone-in chops with great flavor, and I always bring one home for a sandwich a bit later. I also tried the Sausage Sub but would not try it again, the sausage was rather bland.

The wait staff is very good - experienced, personable, and attentive. They also have a hand full of beer choices, including Corona!

Even though this place is a ways out on the far west side of Winston, I think you'll find it worth the effort to try this excellent neighborhood diner.

This small place doesn't look like much on the outside, but the inside is clean and nice. A host waits to seat you and then the service was really good.

I ordered the Reuben and fries a test of a place to me is can they make the Reuben sandwich and is the meat tender. In this case the sandwich was made correctly but the meat a little chewy...a little not a lot.

Overall I will probably order something else, the breakfast prices seemed reasonable and service was good.

We decided to stop in at this lovely little Greek restaurant on Hanes Mill court. Was very cute inside and clean.

Menu had a gazillion options so that right off scares me usually. I decided to stick to Greek food and order the lamb gyro plate to see how does it do with it's signature main offering. Well it was pretty good! I love a good lamb gyro and I was very pleased. The meat was very thin and tender and the tzatziki sauce was full of dill and seemed perfect. They did go a lil crazy with the feta on the salad but hey..I don't complain when I get extra cheese on anything.

My husband got the rueben and enjoyed it. So ya,, we'll come back and try other items. FYI..their breakfast pics look great and from what I saw on the menu, very inexpensive as well. They open at 7am so I'd like to try it next time.

Near my hotel, I found Silvia's, which is a real gem in northwest Winston-Salem. The menu is "old school" offering a wide variety of Greek and Italian cuisine, Steaks, Breakfast (all day), Salad, Sandwiches, and more. I opted for the Reuben, which was perfectly prepared and grilled. Very succulent. Bonus for the crispy and flavorful fries (with a side of brown gravy and Texas Pete) and refreshing applesauce.

Sean was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. This is a "where everybody knows your name" kind of place, with lots of regulars and friendly conversation.

The restaurant is clean, spacious, attractive, and welcoming. My kind of place.

We really do enjoy going to Silvia's Honey Tree Restaurant in Winston as it's near our home. The staff are always friendly and they will help you with any questions you may have. The food selection is great and everything on the menu I've tried is wonderful! The place is clean and well kept. Silvia will greet you with a smile and is so sweet! :)

This place is a very nice establishment. Clean, friendly and clean. Law enforcement friendly so you will always see the boys and girls in blue or brown.
The food is like any diner. Breakfast all day long. If an order isn't cooked to your liking, it will be returned. Price is affordable. The atmosphere is quiet. No loud shouting.

All in all it's a good local business that take care of its customers.

Sylvia's is a staple in my go to places. The vegetables are always good. They have the best Greek dressing and Greek grilled chicken salad in the city. The pork chops with gravy and rice and gravy and so good! What i appreciate about Sylvia's in the consistency in the food quality. Sylvia treat ls everyone like family. Mostly all their dishes are good!

The portions are large and the food was tasty! The salad was very fresh. I could tell that the dressings were homemade. I am definitely coming back. The chicken parmigiana dinner special was delicious!

My man took me out for dinner. It was prime rib night. I ordered medium rare-the first one arrived well done. The next one was better but not warm- was barely warm and some spots were cool. I was super hungry (you know what that is like when you just eat it because you are starving, exhausted, and just want to go to bed with a full tummy). We are definitely going to try this place again and give it another try.
Our wonderful waitress was more than amazing! She made everything better just because of her positivity!
