Do not come here!
I came here because of the Rick Steve guide book however, when I came I wanted to order things by weight but the waitress ignored my request and just took me to table and gave me a menu. I ordered veal but they gave me pork.
After I complaint the waitress assured me it's 100% veal.
I can taste the difference between veal and pork.
with pork there is a strong after taste.
the meat is white in color and does not have shred.
bait and switch. bad practice. ripped off tourist big time.
and they think tourist are idiot who can not tell a difference between veal and pork.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Ashley E.Minneapolis, Estados Unidos1907745818 dic 2015
Our group of mid 20 Americans had one of our best meals in Austria here- in large part due to the atmosphere and kind service. The servers were extremely friendly and the live music made for a great time. It's pretty casual and inexpensive which was something that we were looking for. Good food, great service, fun, welcoming atmosphere.

A carafe of the house gruner veltliner wine was very good. Outdoor seating on a small, cobblestone street is pleasantly slow paced for being so near to the Stephanplatz tumult. Food was average, but not memorable. Overall, reasonably priced. Service was pleasant enough and not hurried. Scores somewhere between 3 and 4 stars... closer to 4.

Wonderful! Our party of seven loved everything we ordered. Great for outdoor dinning with children.

I have been here several times, and always take tourists here. It's my FAVE city Heuriger. I have never been disappointed. The staff recognize me now, which makes it a little more fun. The food is tops - full Viennese variety and not overpriced. The location is great - tucked away behind some big buildings so you don't have street noise, and even though it's dead center, you don't feel like you're in the middle of a giant city. I'll continue visiting this little treasure!

Gigerl is a good spot for more of a casual lunch than an elegant dinner - and it is relatively inexpensive by Vienna standards. The food is good and filling and our waitress was pleasant - she actually suggested we share the set meal for two people among three, and it was more than enough food. Three courses included the traditional turnover (Savory pastries) and salad, followed by a large platter of chicken cutlets, sausages, beef, roast potatoes, and a couple of other items. The dessert was like a chocolate cake and berry tart, not really memorable, but by that point you are too stuffed to have much else. Nice place to sit outside weather permitting.
