Q:
Is there a garden center at this Walmart? If not, which one has a garden center in and around DC?
A:
They only have a small stand w/ flower bouquets if that's what you are looking for, but even that I wouldn't recommend as flowers there usually are not very fresh. The Trader Joe's on 14th street has better flower selections.

Update
After complaining to the corporal office the problem was resolved. Thereafter, returning to this particular location several times I have not seen these two employees since. I'm hoping they're both in training for customer service etiquette. I gave 5 stars for customer service rectifying the problem. Thanks Corporate Office!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 027 ene 2018Reseña anteriorStopped in Wal-Mart, retrieved some merchandise, and went to checkout in the self-checkout section. I thought it was going to be a quick in and out process. WRONG! First, the machine had a glitch and failed to acknowledge I submitted $20. Since the machine didn't reflect the $20 credit I contacted a Wal-Mart employee. Notasha strolled over looking annoyed, and unapproachable. She was so rude and unprofessional in the worst way possible. She failed to acknowledge me by looking the other way while punching the machine with her fingers, and speaking under her breathe. She failed to greet me as well and apologize for the inconvenience. Notasha finally got the machine to reflect the amount I submitted. When she walked away the machine failed to produce a receipt. Notasha was so uncouth I dreaded calling her again. However, she was the only one working in that particular section. I called Notasha twice and she looked the other way. Called her again and she ignored me once again. I had to approached Notasha for help. She was fuming and went to the machine and began pummeling her fingers on the machine. The machine froze and she continued to thump the machine with her fingers. I asked her to please call a manager. Instead of getting the manager she began helping someone else. I walked over to Notasha again and asked for her to please call a manager. Instead, I had to search for the manager. Manager Aleesha gave me attitude off the brim and told me to wait. I thought to myself, "Why are these Wal-Mart people so discourteous and unapproachable?" When I asked her for a pen and began writing she back paddled into a more pleasant posture. I will never visit this Wal-Mart again, because the service here sucks! I will be forwarding a letter to corporate as well. Corporate needs to know how their Wal-Mart employees are treating their customers. Gave one star for cleanness.

I ordered a tear-apart cupcake cake for my son's birthday party and got a confirmation email. My order showed as "in progress" with no issues in advance of our pickup time. My husband arrived to pick up the cake and the bakery counter was dark and unattended. He found someone to help him and always informed that my order had been canceled and that I'd gotten an email about it. I absolutely had NOT gotten a cancellation email. They sent me a cancellation text while my husband was at the store. So basically they canceled our cake without telling us. The birthday party is tomorrow morning and we do not have time to get a custom cake from anywhere else. They're decorating a cake they already had made for my son but it is completely different from the one we had picked out.

The Walmart itself is a big store but there is so much everywhere and a lot of workers with large carts and a ton of people that make it hard to navigate through the store. Also, I think due to the amount of people there was also a very limited selection of certain items or others were completely out. Regardless, I found most of what I was looking for and I liked that the employees enforced the 20 items of less check out line because there were people were carts full of things that was just holding up the line immensely during an evening rush the store was having. A big plus though, they have free garage parking (it kind of smells like pee) but it's covered and close to the elevators. Perfect for a really rainy night like the one I went in. I'd come back because it's less than 10 minutes away from my house!

Why don't they just put the entire store under lock and key? Or just do delivery-only or curbside pickup since those of us who don't stesl aren't allowed to shop unencumbered.
Every time I come to this location, there seems that there is something else that locked is behind glass.
Air fresheners.
Tweezers.
Batteries.
Nail care products.
And if it's not behind glass, there's usually some kind of lock on the rack. It's ridiculous having to find someone in a yellow vest to open the glass case, and even then they sometimes don't let you even touch the item..
Today I came in for some new batteries for my wireless keyboard and you would have thought I was trying to buy a priceless cultural artifact. The batteries are now stashed behind register 19. I had to track down someone who could get the batteries for me and when he went to hand them to me the cashier went off, yelling at him that he can't hand the batteries to me and that he has to walk them to the register that I'm going to use to check out. She made this huge scene and everybody in the line is looking at me like I did something wrong.
Over a pack of batteries that cost less than $5.
And this same cashier literally waited until I got to a self-checkout kiosk before she left her line, and all of the people in it, to walk it over ANOTHER associate in that area, hand HIM the batteries and told him to give me them to me since I was checking out.
Again, all of this over a pack of batteries that cost less than $5.
These batteries better not EVER expire after all the foolishness I went through to get them....Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 012 jul 2018Reseña anteriorThis location has a much more appealing layout and overall shopping environment than its nearby competitor. The parking garage is spacious, well-designed for optimum traffic flow, and easy to navigate (although accessing it via the busy but narrow Peabody Street is a challenge. Patience is strongly advised.) For the most part, all of the elevators and escalators are in good working order. This store is generally cleaner and the displays are much more inviting than the other location. Also, there's a greeter situated at the front, welcoming customers to the store; an otherwise customary Walmart practice that I thought District locations had eschewed because, well... people. Perhaps it was just that way at the other store location that I had been visiting previously.
For all of the architectural, aesthetic, and customer service-based advantages that this location has over the other nearby store, it suffers from the same logistical challenges. One of the things that I do not enjoy about shopping at Walmart stores is that it pretty much guarantees me either a return visit or a visit to another store, because they are always out of something that I need. It is not uncommon to approach a particular section of the store in search of a item and find the shelf space for said item completely bare. And it's always common items: A particular vegetable or fruit, a specific type of cooking oil, cake mix or seasoning.
Management needs to implement a system that allows them to be more aware of their inventory levels. Moreover, either they should dedicate more staff to the exigent task of restocking (otherwise, how will you make money if the customer can't find the products they want?) and/or maximize the "closed" hours like other big box retail stores and bring in overnight crews and staff to restock the shelves without the impediment of the presence of customers. There's no reason to come into a store either first thing in the morning, or in the middle of the day and find displays of everyday items empty. - Molly A.Mount Vernon, Estados Unidos832327 dic 2022
Placed an online order for my fiancé to pick up in his way home from work. Missing groceries, wouldn't let me order a refund on the app and said to call the store. I have called 4 times, they answer and immediately hang up. Horrible customer service. Cheating people out of money and groceries.

After several less than satisfactory deliveries from another local grocer, I decided to give WM a try. I have been very pleased with the accuracy and quality of the merchandise and speed of my delivery. The delivery fee is a bit steep, ($17.95) but they get me my goods in under 2 hours and everything I ordered is included -- no Out Of Stock or Unavailable; no substitutions. Quite impressive.

Waste of time even going here. Don't do it. It's basically just a discounted grocery store. There is literally nothing else of value in here 50% of the store is grocery. Better off going to Target per usual. Clearly we know what we're getting when we walk into a Walmart for the most part but this one is a grocery store honestly. Don't go if you need anything else.

An unprofessional delivery driver named Safiulla refused to deliver my 6 cases of water today because he felt I was supposed to provide him with a dolly or something in order to bring my items to my door. He lied and stated I rejected my own order. This man needs to be fired, he makes Walmart look bad by the way he treats their customers. I have no clue where you found this person but he does not have the right aptitude for this job. I would like to speak to a manager. I have made many attempts to call this store today but nobody answered the phones. I would like to speak to a manager. How does a delivery person comes unprepared to deliver a customer's items then get a disrespectful attitude because the customer does not accommodate him with a transport dolly or some, SMH? Again this ignorant unprofessional man needs to be fired.
